We dream of transforming people of all ages into mature followers of Jesus. Since the world view of most people is firmly set in place by the time they are young adults, we want to invest our best energy and resources in helping young people find and follow Jesus. This will be a long process involving parents, staff and ministry teams. We want to see the fruit and gifts of God's Spirit in young people. Not all these young people will stay in Waitara and find work and ministry here but we want to send out spiritual giants from this place who will change Waitara, New Zealand and beyond.

We dream of being a church that empowers and equips Christians for a life of witness. We want this church to empower us for the ministries God has called us to. We do not see all ministry as being done within the programmes and confines of the church. For many people their main ministry is in the workplace, for others it is in their homes, schools and community organisations. We want the time we spend together in worship, fellowship, prayer and teaching to empower and equip us to go out again in mission. Our faith needs to be public. Jesus calls us to shine our light despite opposition. We want to give glory to God in all we do and say. We dream of being an empowering church that helps more people find and follow Jesus.

We dream of being a healing and restoring church. Our community has many people with major hurts - broken relationships, addictions, depression, loneliness, exhaustion, insecurity and anxiety. Jesus said, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favour.” We want to continue to develop ways of reaching the hurt and oppressed with the words, works of Jesus. We believe God's Spirit will anoint us as we get involved in this healing and restoring ministry. We dream of rejoicing with those who have been healed and set free by the love, truth and the power of Jesus.

This vision can be summed up using three images - a chrysalis, a battery charger and a hospital. We dream of transforming people, empowering Christians and healing the hurting for God's glory.
